Current Status (updated 1/16/25)
My status is "all work, no breaks." I’m prioritizing a massive list of core and routine tasks daily. While I give others leeway for being swamped, it is frustrating to be criticized by others who prioritize leisure while failing to meet their own expectations and deadlines that they commit to. It is a classic case of double standards: being judged by someone who enjoys a life of leisure while failing to deliver on their own promises. As the saying goes, we are often all hypocrites, unable to judge ourselves as we do others.
Ok. That was a bit too honest, maybe. But that sums up my true status and current state of mind these days. But I forge ahead and try not to get bogged down in negativity.
The other day while out on my run, I came up with an idea that I decided to use as a topic to write about and post. Below is what I came up with. I’ll include it here just for shits and grins.
“The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is an entity defined by its massive scale and obsession with total control. It stands as the ultimate gatekeeper between ambition and reality, dictated by a relentless pursuit of "policy transformation" and fiscal dominance. Known for its extravagant appetite for resources, it coordinates every high-stakes negotiation with a flair for the dramatic.
It is a "bloviator" of data, quick to lash out at any agency that dares challenge its authority. This entity demands center-stage attention, often confusing its own massive ego with the national interest. It loves to "gild the lily," favoring gold-standard optics and the acquisition of power and money above all else. Loved by those who benefit from its patronage and loathed by those crushed by its red ink, it is a multifaceted performer of many talents.
But wait. I'm talking about the other OMB (Orange Man Bad), Donald Trump. From the gold-plated towers to the 3:00 AM lashing out, he is the only "OMB" with a spray tan and a mission to manage the budget of the entire world.
